If you’d like to practice reading English fluently, you may re-read the same text several times using a checklist like this:
I read every word
I knew what every word meant
I could tell you what the text is about in my own words
I read at a speed that sounded like I was telling a story to a friend
I knew when to pause, stop, sound excited, ask a question, and change my tone or volume when I saw punctuation
